Beyond the Space Trigger

A whole new world of shortcut triggers

Most people discover SpeedKee through the Space Trigger — type a shortcut, hit Space, and it expands. That's powerful on its own. But SpeedKee has six more trigger types, each unlocking a different way to fire your shortcuts — faster, smarter, and without even lifting a finger to hit Space.
The Triggers
⌨️
Space Trigger
The classic. Type your shortcut, then hit Space — it expands instantly.
Default ON
Examples
omw
+ Space →
on my way
ty
+ Space →
thank you
yt
+ Space →
opens YouTube
How it works: SpeedKee watches what you type. The moment you press Space after a recognized shortcut, it replaces the shortcut with your expansion — text, URL, or command.
⬆️
Almost Auto Trigger
If a shortcut contains non-alphabets OR ends with an uppercase letter, it expands automatically — no Space needed.
Default ON
Examples
t!
Thanks! (auto!)
h?
How are you? (auto!)
💬O
opens ChatGPT (auto!)
Why this matters: The non-letter character signals "done" — no Space needed. Notice how t! and h? are especially natural: the punctuation is both the trigger and the ending you wanted anyway.
👇
Long-Press
Not a toggle — this is how you define a shortcut. Put lp before a single character as the trigger. Long-pressing that character fires the action. Primarily used to launch apps or websites, but text expansion works too.
Examples
lp¡
opens Camera
lp•
opens Gmail
lp~
opens Phone
How it works: The trigger is written as lp + the character in your shortcut definition. Long-press that character on the Megabar and the action fires instantly — no typing needed.

Double Tap Trigger
Double-tap the last character of a shortcut and it expands automatically — no Space needed.
Optional
Examples
omw
+ double-tap w →
on my way
ty
+ double-tap y →
thank you
gm
+ double-tap m →
Good morning!
How it works: Double-tapping the last letter of any shortcut fires it instantly. A fast alternative to Space for shortcuts you use constantly.

🔢
Number Trigger
If the last character of a shortcut is a number, it expands automatically — no Space needed.
Optional
Examples
cu1
See you soon!
cu5
See you later
cu9
Talk to you in a while
Best use: Use numbers to express shades of meaning — low numbers for soon/urgent, high numbers for later/casual. Works for any category where intensity or sequence matters.

Auto Trigger $$
Any shortcut ending with $$ expands automatically — no Space, no tap needed.
Optional
Examples
az$$
apple (auto!)
em$$
your email address (auto!)
ty$$
thank you (auto!)
How it works: Add $$ to the end of any shortcut name, and SpeedKee fires it the moment you type the last $. No delimiter needed. Great for shortcuts you use constantly and want to fire with maximum speed.

Swipe 2-Letter Trigger
Swipe from the first letter to the last letter of a 2-character shortcut to expand it.
Optional
Examples
swipe o→w
on my way
swipe t→y
thank you
Note: Only works with 2-character shortcuts. Swipe directly from the first key to the second key without lifting your finger. A fast, gesture-based alternative to typing + Space.
